I've met a lot of amazing people here, from my host family, to new au pair friends, and everyone in between. Everyone has been lovely. And I spent this week before I went to Paris to just sit back and not stress out about seeing new things. I spent the week enjoying the people i've met and everything around me. I don't think I ever left Clapham, which might have been a first for me since arriving here. Charlie had playdates all week, and we spent some fun time watching movies and playing with birthday hats. A friend of mine celebrated her birthday so we all went out for drinks. And I took a day when the boys were at school and I found a new cafe that i'm head over heels in love with. This week was pretty calm, but still an amazing one. Next post is from Paris!!
I had done some research, which was just me googling "cutest cafes in london" and had found one relatively close to the British Library and decided that that was where I would start my day off! I had gotten the boys to school that morning, and took the tube to Kings Cross St Pancras, where I was greeted with this gorgeous view of St Pancras station. I don't think i'll ever be bored of this city. I then went to a cafe called Drink Shop Do, which is a cafe, bar, and craft market all at once! It's got some beautiful art that was on the walls and for sale, and the calendar of events looked very interesting! I bought myself a hot chocolate because I was in the mood for it, and sat down. Something i've noticed about London is that everything is lit by natural lighting. They love it here and so do I. Everywhere that there can be a window, there is.
