May 10th - 13th - Battersea and Camden Town

I had seen pictures from Battersea park, and had decided, on this incredibly sunny friday, that I would figure out the local buses, and head up that way. I had my book in hand, 6 hours to kill while the boys were in school, and off I went. It was a beautiful day, and it was super relaxing, which was what I needed before I ventured out for a busy weekend.

I sat and read with a chai latte, and then wandered the park for a few hours. I've been doing more walking that I thought I would. I think I need new shoes.

And then, that weekend, I made my way to Camden Town Market, which was amazing. Think of a farmers market and a craft fair had one beautiful night together and this is the weird, wacky offspring. There are food stalls, stalls selling vintage clothes or records, and handmade jewelry. It was so great. I met a lovely woman named Danielle who sold me some beautiful stacking rings. I also had some great curry!

I finished my day off by going to Lush's store at Oxford street, which is one of the largest Lush stores ever, which was so beautiful, and taking a trip up the steps to view London from the top of The Monument to the Great Fire of London. Seeing this city from so high up was spectacular. I love this city more and more every day and I could just look at it forever.

May 4th & 6th - British Library and Hyde Park

I had done some research, which was just me googling "cutest cafes in london" and had found one relatively close to the British Library and decided that that was where I would start my day off! I had gotten the boys to school that morning, and took the tube to Kings Cross St Pancras, where I was greeted with this gorgeous view of St Pancras station. I don't think i'll ever be bored of this city. I then went to a cafe called Drink Shop Do, which is a cafe, bar, and craft market all at once! It's got some beautiful art that was on the walls and for sale, and the calendar of events looked very interesting! I bought myself a hot chocolate because I was in the mood for it, and sat down. Something i've noticed about London is that everything is lit by natural lighting. They love it here and so do I. Everywhere that there can be a window, there is. And then it was off to the British Library. I wasn't willing to shell out the 20 quid to get into the ...

April 22nd - Day in London

Sara and I decided that today would be my first day in London, and I was thrilled. We took the train in from Kettering, and arrived at St. Pancras station. St. Pancras is right next to Kings Cross, and that is somewhere that I will be returning to. But onto the day’s events. We then took the tube to Covent Gardens, which to my surprise were not a garden at all, but a really beautiful shopping center. We wandered around, listened to some beautiful music by a string quintet, and the grabbed some lunch. We shared starters, which were Sliced Beets and Shallots, and then she had chicken for lunch and I had pasta. Then we just wandered. We went to Trafalgar Square, which was housing a big celebration for St. George’s day, so I couldn’t really see or wander around. But! I did see the hilarious statue called “Really Good” which is just a big thumbs up pointed directly at parliament. Bit sarcastic, innit? Then we went to have a drink in an English pub in Soho called the Flying Horse. And we sat...
