I stayed south of the Thames for the rest of the week after I went to 221B, and this weekend I went back into the city to do one of my favourite things - go to a museum. Nat, my host mum, recommended the Museum of London, which documents the city from the stone ages to the present, and I thought that it would be a perfect thing to do this weekend. My first weekend in London, I should probably do my research on the city.
So I took the Tube in (I love the underground -- have I mentioned this?? I love it so much. I've been listening to a lot of A Chorus Line on the Tube, and I don't know why but I just love it), and went! Also, all the museums in London are free. Well, most of them. But this was free, yay!
My favourite time period is the English Renaissance, and while it was really interesting to see all of the Roman artifacts and the Stone Age things, I loved getting to see the art and the artifacts from the 1600s. I didn't take too many photos, but I did get to see some really amazing things:
And then as I was walking to the tube, I stopped by St. Paul's Cathedral, which was BEAUTIFUL. I forgot to take a picture though.
And then I grabbed some lunch and went to visit my good buddy Ben. I was very shocked when I walked out of the underground and it was just right there. Like that's a landmark!! That's a british icon!! And it's just stood right there!!
I also learned how weird it is to just be stood on the side of the road taking a selfie of you with a clock. Oh well. I'm happy with how it turned out! Then I wandered around, went to see Westminster Abbey, and then headed home. I was exhausted by the end of the day, that I made my dinner, took a bath, and tucked myself into bed.
I also found a really well priced ticket to go see David Tennant in Don Juan in Soho on Monday night, so there's that to look forward to! Also, my host family is taking me to the Country Club tomorrow, so i'll update you on that as well!
Thanks for reading! Love you all!
